Our Story

My husband served in the military for the first 8 years of our marriage, so we moved around every two to three years. By 2017, he was no longer active, and we were settled in the south after having our second child. We wanted to find a place to call home, and after some searching, we chose a small town in Rhode Island. We knew we wanted to live by the water but needed something within our budget. We stumbled upon a place that had enough space, a good location, and waterfront views, but it was a real fixer-upper. It had been on the market for over a year with no takers due to its extensive renovation needs.

During a visit to New England, my husband had arranged to see the house, but the owners had taken the key out of the lockbox before his arrival. Despite not being able to go inside, he stepped in the backyard and said, "I can see our kids growing up here." So, we made an offer, moved up the coast, settled in a new town, found new jobs, and started on a renovation journey. At the time, we had a six-month-old, a four-year-old, and a chubby pug. We endured two major renovations over six years and made this town our permanent home.

However, by 2023, as the kids grew and the house felt smaller, we learned that one of our neighbors was selling their house. We wrote her a letter, struck a deal, and sold our home. We're so excited to start all over. Well, maybe ONE of us is excited, the other one might just be looking forward to fishing.
